The Ponta Delgada Chamber of Commerce and Industry holds another edition of the Lar Campo e Mar Fair from 19 May to 25 May in Portas do Mar in Ponta Delgada.
Associated with the Feast of Senhor Santo Cristo do Milagres, this fair offers companies the opportunity to publicize, demonstrate and promote their products and services for both exhibitors and general public. The Feast of Senhor Santo Cristo dos Milagres (Holy Christ Lord of Miracles) is an impressive religious feast, thousands of pilgrims visit this sanctuary and take part in Azores biggest procession, which takes place along the streets of Ponta Delgada city.
This year’s edition of the Lar Campo e Mar Fair will have about 100 participants in an exhibition area of 3200 m², thus constituting the largest multisectoral concentration of companies in the region.
URBAN-WASTE joins this fair and will be presented to the citizens and to many tourists that come every year to this feast. For the whole week, URBAN- WASTE will be promoting and disseminating the project activities and results through a dynamic interaction with the visitors and locals. The aim is to engage and mobilize different stakeholders, policy makers, and researchers, representatives of the industry and of the civil society, individual citizens and even tourists, to participate in the project next challenges. Through a participatory process, the ultimate goal is to gather inputs and feedbacks for waste prevention and management strategies for Ponta Delgada and contribute to raise awareness for the waste problem in touristic cities.
