The Lisbon Tourism Summit, held on 2 November was a full-day event dedicated to the tourism industry, including innovations, challenges and developments.
The event gathered national and international key players and experts to exchange ideas and stimulate discussion around the next big trends driving the sector.
The Summit involved industry professionals and also tourism-related start-ups seeking to share their innovative solutions, as well as meeting and cooperating with leading organizations in tourism and travel sector.
Speakers from the hotel and service sector, tourism organizations and authorities, journalists, airlines and researchers shared their thoughts and ideas on how to implement sustainable solutions, the characteristics and expectations of future travellers, and innovation in tourism with international tourism hubs.
A Demo Stage was dedicated to start-ups featuring innovative ideas disrupting the industry, as well as large tourism organizations demonstrating different pilot programs and discussing on different case studies.
The URBAN-WASTE project was presented in a panel related with Sustainable Tourism. In this panel URBAN-WASTE’s aim, countries involved, working groups created among different sectors were explained and how goals were set and try to be achieved. The participation in the event was mainly to create awareness about the project.
