Our partners from Syracuse are using the sunny summer months as best as they can in order to maximise the visibility of the project and the measures being implemented among their local community, as well as tourists visiting the city this summer.
The “Ortigia Film Festival” took place in Syracuse earlier this month and it was a perfect moment for the municipality of Syracuse to organise one of the activities on the awareness campaign they had foreseen within the URBAN-WASTE project’s framework. This campaign aims to inform citizens about the implementation of the URBAN-WASTE project and to involve tourists to reduce the amount of municipal waste production.
In addition, on 13 July 2018, the Municipality of Syracuse placed a used cooking oil point collector in the historic city center. This demonstrative action is one of the good practices chosen by Syracuse Municipality for the promotion of separate collection and shared by the stakeholders (Proloco, Sicilia Turismo Per Tutti, Noi Albergatori, the Municipality of Syracuse, IGM Rifiuti Industriali, and Associazione Guide Turistiche) involved in the signed of the Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) on 26 April.
