The third Mutual Learning event within the URBAN-WASTE project framework is taking place will be dedicated to waste management planning with a special focus on tourism and tourism activities.
The event itself will explore how to reach a waste management plan suitable for touristic cities which takes into consideration many specificities these cities have including high seasonal variation of resident population, thus amount of generated waste, insufficient infrastructure for collecting and treating these amounts and differences in behaviours and habits between the local and visiting population when it comes to waste generation.
The Communities of Practices, an essential part of the project which mobilises local stakeholder along the tourism and waste value chain, will enrich the event with their role in waste management planning and will showcase examples how properly to include local stakeholders in achieving as good waste management performances as possible.
